Stitched branding for everyday wear and promotion
Embroidery gives garments a hard-wearing finish that holds up well on repeat wear, washing and daily handling. It suits polos, golf shirts, jackets, aprons, hats, beanies, bags and selected gifts where you want a tidy branded look that lasts. For Lowveld conditions, that matters. Heat, dust, rain and frequent washing can all affect printed decoration, but properly set embroidery keeps its shape and colour for longer.
At CK Embroideries, we handle embroidery work from our Riverside base in Mbombela for clients in White River, Hazyview, Malelane, Barberton, Kabokweni and Ngodwana. We work with companies, schools, clubs and organisations needing one-off pieces or larger runs. If your item has a logo, name, department mark or team identifier, we can usually stitch it where the fabric and size allow.
We also advise when embroidery is not the best fit. Very fine text, tiny detail, light stretch fabric or very large artwork may need a different method or a simplified stitch version. That saves time and gives a cleaner result, rather than forcing a design that wont hold up well on cloth.
What is included in an embroidery order
Most embroidery jobs start with your logo or wording being prepared for stitch production. This includes digitising the artwork, checking size, thread colours and placement, then confirming a sample view before any bulk stitching begins. For repeat clients, we keep the stitch file on record so future orders can move faster.
- Logo digitising for embroidery machines
- Thread colour matching for corporate, school or club branding
- Placement advice for chest, sleeve, cap front, cap side, bag panels and jacket backs
- Mock-ups and approval before production
- Neat finishing, trimming and packing by order
We can embroider supplied garments or assist with branded supply where needed. For bulk orders, items are checked for size consistency before stitching so the logo sits in the same position across all garments. That saves rework and avoids the uneven look that can happen when every piece is handled differently.
How the embroidery process works
The process is straightforward. First, you send your logo or wording through the enquiry form on our contact page, along with the item type, quantity and preferred placement. If you do not have a stitch file, we prepare one from your artwork. From there, we confirm sizing, stitch density and thread colours before production starts.
- Step 1: Artwork review and embroidery setup
- Step 2: Digitising for machine stitching
- Step 3: Sample layout and approval
- Step 4: Production embroidery on approved items
- Step 5: Trimming, checking and packing
For shaped items like caps, there is extra attention on frame choice and placement so the logo follows the curve properly. On heavier fabrics, we adjust stabiliser support to keep the stitch line clean. On lighter garments, we take care not to over-stiffen the fabric, which can make the finished piece feel bulky. The goal is a tidy finish that suits the item, not just the logo.
Turnaround times, volumes and practical limits
Turnaround depends on quantity, artwork complexity and stock availability. Simple names or repeat logo orders can move quickly, while new digitising and larger mixed orders take longer. School bulk orders and corporate uniforms are best booked ahead, especially at the start of a term or before year-end functions when production calendars fill up fast.
We handle small runs and bulk orders, from a few items to larger packs for teams, staff and learners. If you need embroidery for a promotion, event, staff issue or school season, it helps to submit sizes and quantities early. That lets us plan machine time, thread use and packing more accurately.
We also factor in load-shedding and delivery lead times. In practice, this means we plan production windows carefully so your order stays on track even when power interruptions affect workshop flow. If a job has a fixed date, tell us upfront so we can advise whether the timing is workable.
Pricing approach for embroidery work
Embroidery pricing is based on a few key things: stitch count, design size, number of colours, item type, placement and order quantity. A small chest logo on a polo will cost differently from a large back logo on a jacket or a multi-position cap order. We quote clearly so you know what drives the price.
We do not price every item the same way because the work is not the same. A dense, detailed logo takes more machine time than a simple name. Caps require different setup from flat garments. Bags can also vary depending on seams, panels and fabric weight. For that reason, a proper quote is the best way to compare options and avoid surprises.
If you have a budget in mind, we can often suggest the most cost-effective size or placement without compromising the professional look. In some cases, a one-colour stitch version or a smaller logo position can bring the price down while still keeping the brand visible. That is often useful for schools and businesses ordering in volume.
Care, maintenance and repeat-order planning
Embroidery lasts best when the garment is washed and handled properly. We recommend gentle washing, turning garments inside out when possible, and avoiding harsh bleach or very hot ironing directly over stitched areas. For caps and bags, spot cleaning is usually better than hard scrubbing, especially on darker fabrics where colour fade can show more quickly.
- Wash in cool or lukewarm water where possible
- Do not iron directly on raised stitching
- Use mild detergent and avoid harsh chemicals
- Allow garments to dry fully before packing away
- Check high-wear items every few months for loose threads or frayed seams
For corporate and school clients, we suggest a maintenance review at least once or twice a year, especially if uniforms are issued in batches. That helps identify sizes that need replacing, items that need re-ordering and branding that should stay consistent across new stock. If the same logo is used again later, having the stitch file ready speeds up the next order and keeps the look consistent from one batch to the next.
